Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Creates health and safety training or informational content for well-defined subjects on demand. Works under limited supervision and has latitude in creativity and developing content to meet business needs. Some positions may serve as a lead resource for other Content Designers.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Collaborates with end users and subject matter experts to determine the best way to meet training or performance needs to comply with relevant safety and health regulations.



  • Solicits feedback from all stakeholders to ensure training materials meet the needs of the end user and support business goals.



  • Creates efficient, effective, and engaging learning activities, course content, and job aids.



  • Integrates compliance requirements into training content.



  • Communicates complex topics in a way that is easy to understand.



  • Designs illustrations, diagrams, animations, instructional hand-outs, infographics, presentations, and online courses



  • Captures and edits photos and videos needed for training material



  • Reinforces and supports Altec's unique culture through all training material and communication



  • Maintains training records, runs reports, and schedules appropriate training activities to meet needs.



  • Stays informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in safety and health training.



EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Four-year degree highly desired or equivalent directly applicable experience on a year for year basis


OTHER POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:


  • Proven experience in instructional design and content development, preferably in the safety and health field.



  • Proficiency in software tools to design illustrations, diagrams, animations, instructional hand-outs, infographics, presentations, and online courses (with correct use of fonts, shapes, colors, and composition)



  • Possesses excellent written communication skills (job aids, effective copy, instructional text, audio/video scripts)



  • Possesses excellent verbal communication skills (one-on-one discussion, explanation, persuasion, presentation)



  • Travel of up to approximately 25% may be required



The job level may be modified upward based on the qualifications of the candidate
