GENERAL PURPOSE : Supply presses with accurate inks and varnishes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Delivers ink, varnishes, and dies to press.
- Cleans aniloxes.
- Blends inks and topcoats.
- Performs color matches.
- Creates color standards.
- Washes plates for completed jobs.
- Troubleshoots ink and varnish problems.
- Reports ink supply needs to Ink Tech II.
- Maintains 5S program.
- Performs other job duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
- Must have at least six months of related experience.
- Must have basic personal computer skills including electronic mail and word processing.
- Must be able to meet and/or pass the minimum requirement on a mechanical test.
- Must be able to run mixers and density reading equipment.
- Must be able to use densitometers and spectrophotometers.
- Must be able to clearly discuss ink problems with ink operators and give them guidance.
- Must fully understand all ink and varnish systems used on presses.
- Must have mathematical skills at the level needed to perform job.
- Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Must pass color vision and color hue tests.
- Must be able to maintain good attendance.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to perform all essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.
