The Opportunity
The E-7A Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) is the centerpiece of Australia's National Air Defence Capability, incorporating powerful Airbourne Surveillance, Communications and Battle Management Capability. BDA is looking for a Senior System Safety Engineer, with experience or interest in embedding Safety in design to join our Wedgetail team.
Responsibilities
- Perform Systems Engineering activities to plan, design, develop and verify systems specialising in the System Safety domain.
- Support projects in understanding requirements and design implications pertaining to safety and identify potential and realised performance and safety considerations
- Guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Lead specific scopes of work in safety engineering for projects
- Actively promote the benefit of System Safety across the organisation and contribute to the development and growth of these disciplines within BDA
Experience/Qualifications
- Experience in Systems Safety Engineering or related discipline in a complex project environment
- Excellent communication skills that enable you to influence outcomes in a team environment
- A continuous improvement mindset
- Tertiary degree qualification in an engineering or related technical discipline
