Adjunct Faculty, Health Management Position Summary Mount Saint Mary's University Graduate Program in Health Policy and Management is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time teaching assignments in Healthcare Management/Health Policy. These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are on-going recruitment. Assignments include evening courses. Position Range: $2,092.50 per unit General Responsibilities The adjunct faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the HPM program director; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in his/her regular teaching field; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review. Work Schedule Start date: Spring 2018 3 hours, one night a week (either Tuesday or Thursday) Job Requirements: Successful candidates should possess a Ph.D. or equivalent in Business Administration, Political Science, Healthcare Management, or closely-related field from an accredited institution is required; however, applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered. Experience in health policy analysis or health services/quality improvement work in local, state, or national health care policy, population health management or clinical outcomes research/quality improvement. The candidate will be able to teach graduate level courses related to health care management and/or health policy. Have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles. Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience, healthcare industry/health policy analysis/academic research experience. Ability to teach multiple health policy and health policy analysis courses.
