Costello College of Business at George Mason University is one of the largest business schools in Virginia, and is located near Washington, D.C., in Arlington and Fairfax, and at George Mason's global campus in Incheon, South Korea. With 11 tenure line faculty and 5 term faculty, the Management area has faculty with expertise in many different business topics, with a focus on Organizational Behavior, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship. Organizational behavioral researchers study topics such as individual cognition, creativity, decision making and identity, team dynamics, conflict and negotiations, leadership, change management, and global/cultural issues. Strategy and entrepreneurship researchers explore topics of strategic management and analysis, international strategy, competitive strategy and global business issues. Faculty publish in the top management journals including Strategic Management Journal and Administrative Science Quarterly. The management area offers courses in these areas, the College's capstone strategy course, and minors in several areas including entrepreneurship and international business. About the Position: The Term Instructor teaches Management courses in undergraduate and graduate programs. Management faculty are part of the Management area, one of the six areas of the Costello College of Business. Responsibilities: Teach Management courses in undergraduate and graduate programs. The teaching load for this position is determined according to the college's workload policy; Work with the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship; and Service to the MGMT Area, the Costello College of Business, the University, and the profession, such as student mentoring, committee membership, and interfacing with the business community. Required Qualifications: Master's degree in related field; Commitment to excellence in teaching, including evidence of effective teaching; Evidence of effective teaching or the potential to effectively teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels; Evidence of familiarity with the entrepreneurship ecosystem; and Good citizenship in terms of service is critical, as is the ability to work well with colleagues. Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree in a related field; Teaching potential for graduate level courses; Teaching in at least 2 of the following subject areas: entrepreneurship, starting a business, social entrepreneurship; Evidence of participation in entrepreneurial endeavors; and Evidence of mentorship of entrepreneurs.
