The Student Financial Services (SFS) Office Assistant is a full-time position responsible for supporting day-to-day office operations. The successful candidate will have a hi gh level of professionalism and confidence in customer service and be able to handle confidential student information. It is critical that the individual in this roll bring strong verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail. They must also have the ability to multi-task and prioritize duties in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. The successful candidate will excel at working in an environment that is broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. This is a full-time, year-round, benefits-eligible position located on the Annandale campus of Bard College. Responsibilities and Duties: Serve as a front-line resource for prospective, current, and former students, as well as their families, providing exceptional customer service to all parties Assist with all inquiries in regards to financial aid scholarship applications, FAFSA submission, reviewing awards, billing, and payment options/plans via multiple modes of communication (face to face, phone, and email) Receive and process daily incoming and outgoing mail Create prospective student files and maintain current filing system for active and inactive students Follow up with students on missing or information, refund check availability and overdue payments Process transactions such as payments for replacement IDs and key payments, Flex fund payments, and FERPA submissions Utilize internal systems for data entry, review of student information, third party payment processing and payment plans Protect the confidentiality of student records and files within Student Financial Services Apply college policies and procedures, federal and/or state laws and regulations regarding financial aid and cash management functions, and confidentiality regulations as needed Other special projects and job-related duties as assigned Prior customer service experience required; higher education experience preferred Associate's degree preferred Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google; knowledge of Ellucian Banner a plus Excellent verbal and written communication skills Organization, accuracy and keen attention to detail Ability to work with confidential information Must be able to work occasional weekends and evenings, as needed Must be able to occasionally lift 20 pounds To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and three professional references to Interfolio. Compensation: $23-$26/hour This salary range reflects the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for the position at the time of the job posting. Salary decisions are dependent on several factors including but not limited to market and organizational considerations, experience, and qualifications of a selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
