Service Engineering Stress-Liaison Tech Spec II in GAC Farnborough
Unique Skills:
Unique Skills required for Stress Liaison position: (Engineer will be physically located in the Farnborough, UK facility)
Substantial experience performing both liaison duties and stress analysis in support of aircraft structural repair, rework, and alteration.
Significant experience working in a post production liaison or stress role, MRB role, or concessions stress engineer role
Substantial experience in the creation of engineering instruction and documentation based on reasoning from engineering first principles.
Significant experience with review of engineering drawings, researching, preparing calculations, and writing in-depth stress reports and troubleshooting instructions to support in-service aircraft with short return to service times.
Must have working knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14CFR - especially Chapter I, Part 25), as it pertains to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulation procedures and a willingness to support other certification related activities for both FAA and foreign airworthiness authorities.
Must have a basic knowledge of 14CFR 145 repair station activities and aircraft repair as performed per 14CFR43 or UKCAA/EASA familiarity
Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal, must be a self-starter and comfortable working multiple priority jobs while balancing customer expectations.
Must have the ability to effectively work with and support a multi-discipline team of engineers, technicians, Quality Control, upper management, etc.
Must be able to change roles between structural design work, stress work and troubleshooting while working to manage and maintain schedule on all related tasks
Candidates must have prior experience using 3D modeling systems (typically CATIA) to adequately review Engineering designs.
Must be able to perform analysis utilizing Classical hand analysis and elementary Finite Element Modeling using FEMAP / PATRAN with Nastran.
Must have familiarity with, and prior usage and application of, Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis techniques and software.
Must have skill in the development and analysis of composite repairs
Preferred Skills:
Experience creating 2D repair drawings
Prior Experience with Gulfstream aircraft
FAA DER or ODA unit member for 14CFR25 related aircraft structures
Experience with Structural Repair Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalog, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals.
Assignments are executed under the supervision of the Savannah Service Center Engineering Group Head to meet Engineering, Certification, and Manufacturing schedules.
Analysis methods and design standards to be employed will be consistent with company standards and accepted methods. Additional responsibilities are outlined in the job description and as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required. experience in specific technical discipline or broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors.
