Conducting novel and impactful research that generates new knowledge, solves real-world problems, and enhances lives is among the most fundamental purposes of the institution. The Partnerships and Programs Lead will contribute to this critical aim by: 1) leading and serving as a thought partner to a team of research development professionals focused on advancing research development programming, research impacts, external funding opportunities, and internal funding opportunities; 2) supporting faculty and staff in the strategic planning for and pursuit of opportunities and funding to achieve their goals for research, scholarship, and creative endeavors; 3) establishing, developing, and maintaining collaborations with members of the university community who can serve as critical partners to UNL's Office of Research and Economic Development in supporting faculty and staff in achieving their goals for research, scholarship, and creative endeavors; 4) facilitating partnership development among UNL faculty and staff with external partners in support of their goals for research, scholarship, and creative endeavors; 5) coordinating with the Director of Research Development, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Research Development, and other UNL administrators to enhance knowledge sharing and strategic coordination; and 6) providing team-building and ideation facilitation to support interdisciplinary and/or large-scale team formation and development for initiatives that will advance institutional goals for research, innovation, and economic development. Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's and 5 years' experience in research development at a major research university; working with faculty and staff in a research development capacity in support of their goals for research, scholarship, or creative endeavors; and in external and internal partnership development in a university setting. Equivalent education/experience considered. A high level of interpersonal and analytical skills to oversee and coordinate a team of research development professionals focused on faculty research development programming and partnerships. Excellent and effective leadership and communication skills. Knowledge of the external funding landscape (public and private) and the opportunities and requirements for local, regional, national, and global research partnerships. Research project team building and/or facilitation skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting university faculty and staff in navigating the external funding landscape (public and private) and building partnerships at a range of levels (local, regional, national, and global). Experience in the following research development areas at a major research university: Research development programming and events for university faculty and staff. Identifying external funding opportunities for individuals/teams. Managing limited submission competition processes. Managing internal funding opportunities. Research impacts partnership development and support. Functional understanding of UNL's research programs and operations, including UNL faculty and their capabilities. Working knowledge and understanding of the external funding landscape (public and private) and the opportunities and requirements for local, regional, national, and global research partnerships. Posted Salary: $90,000-$110,000/year Job Type: Full-Time
