Lead SME Platform Architect

Your work in enterprise IT will provide Architecture and Solution Design, Engineering, Implementation and Operational Support Services to design, engineer, implement and maintain emerging, evolving, and developing Information Technology (IT) strategic solutions for our customer's enterprise. HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

As the Lead SME Platform Architect, you will manage and facilitate the engineering and operations of the hybrid cloud-based platform IT infrastructure and applications delivery for the Enterprise. The position requires expert knowledge and experience in support of all aspects of the Enterprise Platform Infrastructure including enterprise directory services, on-prem cloud hosting services, and performance and capacity planning.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Operate and sustain the on-going daily operational use of an infrastructure to include assessment, gap analysis, automation, updating, testing to accelerate deployment, administration, and monitoring gaining efficiencies.
  • Build a shared platform aggregating the tools, services, workflows, and data used by engineers and technical teams across the organization to simplify the development process and make reusable services accessible to development teams.
  • Work closely with client development teams and architects to design, build, and sustain a containerized application platform.
  • Deploy software to new platforms and maintain multiple environments from development through production.
  • Drive and manage improvements with an emphasis on automation, proactive monitoring across environments, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Support and manage server lifecycles - provisioning, maintenance, security compliance, decommissioning of hardware and daily operations
  • Active Directory and GPO implementation and support
  • Support the implementation of complex identity management solutions
  • Virtualization management and support
  • Monitor the infrastructure environment's health status, service performance, and utilization
  • Implement and maintain continuous compliance to information security policies and technical standards, report and remediation of non-compliances
  • Maintain the security baseline compliance via automation, container scanning, configuration, implementation, and remediation activities
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures and communicate with impacted constituencies.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity and configure network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems including the transition and migration of corporate systems to containerized environment
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
  • Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelors Degree Computer Science or related field

Required Experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience with architecting and developing platform-based solutions, establishing throughput and setting baselines for acceptable performances standards.
  • Significant experience with managing and using DevSecOps concepts.
  • Experience in evaluation and analysis of workloads that are running in public and private cloud environments.
  • Expertise working with virtualization, storage and enterprise backup solutions using automation technologies.
  • Expertise working with Active Directory technologies.
  • Expertise working with application streaming and desktop virtualization technologies.
  • Current relevant Microsoft Certification: Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Desired Experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with any DHS agencies or entities
  • Knowledge and experience with tools including, but not limited to:
    • Identify Management: PKI, ADFS, Azure AD Connect, and Microsoft Identity Manager
    • Directory Services: Active Directory, ADFS, Azure AD, ICAM, ASW IAM
    • Build tools: Chef, Ansible, Git, Sonatype, EKS, SCCM, Twistlock, Apigee, CloudBees, UiPath
    • Hosting Services: Netapp OnCommand, Microsoft VMM and HyperV, Microsoft System Center, VMWare ESXi, Cisco Flexpod
    • Automation ad Orchestration tools

Security clearance level: Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust Suitability and a DHS Entry on Duty (EOD)

The likely salary range for this position is $195,500 - $264,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
