JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator Nursing Research and Evidence Based Practice (EBP) is responsible for facilitating all activities related to Nursing Research and Evidence Based Practice throughout the healthcare system. This position is responsible for the advancement of nursing knowledge and improvement of patient care through research and EBP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures the success of NCH Nursing Research through the coordination and oversight of nursing research activities that support program, departmental, and organizational strategic research priorities.

• Undertakes the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive Nursing Research Plans across clinical, educational and administrative practice with define goals and targets that support the dissemination and enculturation of research and EBP activities.

• Provide overview to the review, coordination, tracking and monitoring of nursing research proposals and activities from inception to implementation.

• Fosters the development of a practice environment/culture conducive to conducting and utilizing Nursing Research and EBP by developing, implementing, and enculturating a model for nursing research and evidence-based practice.

• Serves as an innovative, collaborative leader to drive excellence in practice and scholarly research by collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to develop in-services and continuing education programs to educate, mentor and expand knowledge for staff at all levels of clinical Research and evidence-based practice.

• Engage nurses at all levels- nursing staff, nurse educators, advanced practice nurses, nurse leaders, and managers in improving patient care outcomes and professional practice through involvement in Clinical Research initiatives.

• Mentors front line staff nurses to develop, conduct and disseminate Evidence Based Practice activities and Nursing Research Studies bridging the gap between research and practice

• Facilitate and serve as a resource in preparation of abstracts, manuscripts, paper/podium/poster presentations, and grant initiatives.

• Serve as a subject matter expert in designing and conducting research studies and disseminates findings; leading and developing high performing teams/project groups while working collaboratively with librarian, biostatisticians, and other consultants on nursing research initiatives.

• Prepares proposals to obtain internal NCH Foundation or external funding for innovative research and education projects.

• Promote collaborative clinical research initiatives by consulting with staff nurses, students, clinical and administrative groups, physicians, and residents and interdisciplinary partners.

• Serve as a Clinical Research Consultant designee to entities within NCH Healthcare System, relevant committees, Shared Decision-Making Research and Evidence Based Practice Council and NCH Institutional Review Board.

• Coordinate Academic Practice Partnerships for DNP projects and PhD Dissertations.

• Advance the organization's position pursuing/maintaining designation as a leading Pathway and/or Magnet designated facility.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school required. Master's in Nursing preferred.

• Licensed in Florida as a registered nurse.

• One or more years' experience with research in clinical setting working with staff nurses to advance research initiatives preferred.

• A registered nurse with knowledge and experience in research principles and methodology.

• Broad expertise in nursing practice, education, quality improvement strategies and research and evidence-based practice.

• Record of publications in peer reviewed journals. Knowledge, training, and/or experience in the areas of human subject's protection.

• Grant writing experience preferred.

• Demonstrates command of standard research study designs and implementation strategies.

• Established research track record participating in federal agency research activities and/or securing external funding preferred.

• Knowledge and ability to use computer applications in the analysis of data, writing, and presentation of information

• Intermediate computer knowledge: Uses Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
