Our team is looking for an experienced Sr. Software Engineer and Team Lead with a full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) background, who can work in a dynamic, distributed, fast-paced environment.  In this position you will be directing a small team of developers in an Agile environment and coordinating with on-site personnel.  You will design, build, and enhance data pipelines to ingest, process, and visualize Electric Power networks, and develop utilities to automate, augment, and analyze network characteristic data to build Power Flow models, reducing the timeframe and uncertainty associated with Power Flow modeling and effect-based targeting.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a small, distributed, software development team providing direction, mentorship, and support
  • Coordinate with the technical point of contact (TPOC), project manager, other contractors, on-site developers, and Electrical Power engineers)
  • Conduct requirements analysis, software design, integration, verification, and validation activities
  • Assist defining and implementing software development procedures and best practices

Required Skills

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active Top-Secret clearance and DCID eligibility for SCI
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an engineering field with at least 12 years technical experience. Relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree
  • Experience designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging enterprise application, desktop application, or platform infrastructure software
  • Experience with modern programming and scripting languages (Python and C#)
  • Relational database design and development experience, SQL commands, and queries (MS SQL Server, PostGIS)
  • Experience integrating with third-party products and APIs
  • Experience using Docker containers for development and deployment
  • Proven ability to lead and manage software development efforts effectively
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Self-motivated individual with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Great interpersonal and communications skills, while establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with team members
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to lead in a collaborative/distributed team environment

Desired Skills

  • Experience in web application development with Python, Dash, and HTML
  • Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), geospatial data, and geospatial coordinate systems, transformations, and functions
  • Experience with Open Street Map (OSM), OSMnx, and data extraction and transformation techniques
  • Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment using the Scrum methodology
  • Experience with virtual environments for development (e.g., Vagrant)
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Apache NiFi, Git, JIRA, Bitbucket, GitHub, Posit
  • Experience with AI/ML for predictive analysis and classification
  • Security+ Certification clearance

Salary Range: 

$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
