About the Role

The Quality Assurance Engineer III is a part of our Supply Chain organization and in this role will interact with a broad range of suppliers (existing and new). Our Aftermarket QA Engineer will support the workload increase on Customer Support requests, PFs, NOEs, Alerts, Mailouts, reviews, new supplier's certification, audits and investigations.

Adiditional Information


  • Prior experience in the aviation or aerospace industry is highly desirable

  • The candidate should be proactive in driving continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Assurance department

  • Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with other departments

  • Experience in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Power BI, Corridor and SAP is a plus

  • Experience in supply chain audit management and QMS (Quality Management System) is preferred.

  • Experience leading and participating in high level project implementation


Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, aviation sciences, quality systems or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 4 years quality assurance/control, manufacturing operations and/or military operations experience is required..

Position Purpose:

Performs Quality Assurance Engineering assignments requiring independent evaluation, selection, and application of standard Quality Engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgment and ingenuity in making adaptations and modifications. Tasks are performed on medium, moderately complex contracts requiring independent execution within a defined set of skills or knowledge area without help or coaching from others. In working with senior level Quality Assurance Engineers, individuals may be exposed to higher level skills that may require help or coaching from others.

Job Description

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
  • Actively identifies and completes process improvement projects related to achieving improved quality or efficiency within their area of responsibility.


  • Monitors workflow and progress and ensures that standards/expectations are met; assist Coordinators in resolving issues.


  • Interprets and executes company policies and procedures; develops new procedures as required.


  • Develops processes to identify, analyze and correct quality trends.


  • Maintains KPIs for the MRB process to demonstrate process effectiveness and improved efficiency.


  • Promotes, encourages and leads employees towards a continuous improvement culture.


  • Serves as QA customer interface for various oversight activities.


  • Performs Quality Engineering activities using defined software tools and applications such as MiniTab.


  • Proficient in the use of inspection tools and techniques.


  • Performs quality planning activities including Quality Plans, QADs and Inspection Plans as required. by the assigned project(s).


  • Participates in process improvement activities through monitoring, root cause investigations, auditing, failure analysis, etc.


  • Participates in CDRL development, review and delivery to the customer as required. by the assigned project(s).


  • Assists in gauging and calibration activities as necessary.


  • Assists in developing fabrication/build processes and standards.


  • Participates in MRB disposition activities.


  • Performs QA estimating for small to medium, less complex projects.


  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Other Requirements:
  • An Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License may be used in combination with 4 years of related experience (in addition to the experience requirements below) in lieu of the degree requirement.


  • ASQ certification (CQE) and/or experience as a FAA recognized airworthiness designee highly preferred.


  • Advanced degree in engineering or related curriculum preferred.


  • Maintain an up to date knowledge in the areas of Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, Design Controls, Risk Management, and Statistical Techniques.


  • Knowledgeable of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) ASME Y14.5.


  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.


  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.


  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of FAA regulations, CATIA and Solumina preferred.


  • Knowledgeable of manufacturing processes.


  • Lean/Six Sigma certification as a green belt preferred.


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.


  • Proficient computer skills.
