UW Information Technology (UW-IT) is the central information technology organization for the University of Washington, responsible for strategic planning, oversight, and direction of the UW’s IT infrastructure, resources, and services. UW-IT provides critical technology support to all three campuses, UW Medicine, and research operations around the world. UW-IT partners with the UW community to enable innovation, learning, discovery, and service.
Within the Data & Applications Workday Operations organization, the Workday HR/Payroll Application Management team supports Workday HR/Payroll modules such as Human Capital Management, Compensation, Academic, Talent, Benefits, Time Tracking, Absence, and Payroll. The hallmarks of UW-IT are delivering services that are timely, accurate and highly attuned to the fast-paced university environment.
The Workday Benefits Integration Manager leads a team dedicated to configuring and maintaining Workday HR/Payroll, a cloud-based HR/Payroll management software system. Supported capabilities encompass various Workday HR/Payroll modules. More specific responsibilities include leading maintenance and continuous improvement of the Workday functional configuration, coaching a team dedicated to achieving the highest standards for quality and timely delivery, troubleshooting complex system issues, coordinating testing/validation of functionality changes, providing content expertise for the development of Workday domain area training material, and acting as primary functional lead for integrations. In performing these duties, the incumbent will lead analysis of complex business problems and processes to mitigate risk, find cost-effective solutions, and identify functional and non-functional solutions supporting the HR/Payroll needs of the University.
The Technology Manager serves as a primary liaison with stakeholders of Workday transactional processes, coordinating closely across all support teams and with advanced domain experts external to the team. This role requires extensive insight into the range of HR/Payroll business processes and technical considerations and encompasses cognizance of relevant compliance/regulatory standards and associated audit/control reporting.

Work environment deadlines include a semi-monthly ongoing payroll schedule for operations as well as project-driven effective dates and due dates.
Occasional work outside of business hours for timed deployments, urgent support, or planned recurring work such as the twice yearly Workday Release weekend in March and September.
