Our role in Operations is to bring these promising therapies from the lab to life through a thorough process of development, manufacturing, testing, and supply. Our Rockville Manufacturing Center (RMC) cell therapy facility located in Rockville, Maryland is the newest addition to our global supply network of nearly 30 manufacturing and supply facilities in 16 countries. This manufacturing facility aims to make a direct contribution and immediate impact to patients by delivering life-saving cell therapies. It's challenging but highly rewarding work, involving hundreds of dedicated people throughout the manufacturing lifecycle along with supporting office functions. What you will do:


  • Execute manufacturing batch records, work instructions and/or SOPs, with a focus on 'right the first time'.

  • Monitor, clean, prepare, and operate sophisticated automated cell processing, cell expansion, and filling equipment in Grades A, B, and C cleanroom environments.

  • Participate in tech transfer activities and ensure a safe work environment following AstraZeneca standards.

  • Be prepared for weekend and night work as required.



Minimum Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 0-2+ years of general cGMP manufacturing experience or Master's degree and 0-1+ years of general cGMP manufacturing experience.

  • Basic knowledge of biologics manufacturing process, cell culture and/or vector products.

  • Familiarity with aseptic techniques and manufacturing equipment in open and closed systems.

  • Knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment and/or process analytical technologies.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and data analysis.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to work shifts in 2025.



Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous manufacturing or process development experience with cell therapy or vector products including aseptic technique.

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).

  • Dynamic individual with the ability to communicate and engage others.

  • Independent and self-starting. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to change ways of working/identify opportunities to improve processes within the cGMP clinical manufacturing environment.
