Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a MRI Technologist - Outpatient Radiology - Garden City - Part Time.

In this role, the successful candidate Under the direction of a Radiologist, operates Magnetic Resonance Imaging equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and performs procedures according to established standards and practices, including patient identification, safety standards and completion of required forms before allowing a patient to leave zone area.

Job Responsibilities:


    • Accurately utilizes the PACS (Picture Archival System) to make images available to the radiologist for interpretation with minimum number of exceptions.

    • Enters proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and arrives and completes exams in a timely fashion.

    • Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies. Reports any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor in a timely fashion.

    • Instructs and supervises radiography students in clinical practicum. Works with the radiography student to perform exams as well as performing individual image evaluation.

    • Performs other duties as assigned

    • Operates MRI equipment to take diagnostic images of specific body areasparts as ordered. Produces diagnostic images for interpretation by the radiologist.

    • Prepares and positionsor immobilizes patients properly and provides clear and concise instructions regarding the procedure before beginning an exam. Ensures quality review of the images fall within the guidelines of departmental SOP (Standard operating protocol).

    • Practices safety protocols with regard to patient and employee safety when in range of magnetic field. Ensures MRI safety protocols are practiced.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Technical Diploma Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services. New York State Radiologic Technologist License or New York State Radiologic Technologist Temp Permit. American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Advanced Certification in MRI required within 180 days of Hire or transfer. Strong communication (both written and oral), problem solving, and customer service skills. Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree In Radiology Program or relatedHealth field. 1 - 2 years MRI technologist or training experience.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $49.13 - $54.56 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
