What You Will Do


  • Responsible for EHS programs and processes for Collins York, NE site which consists of a manufacturing facility with approximately 225 employees.

  • Collaborates with Operations and other Site Leadership to integrate EHS performance into site business activities

  • Develop the site EHS Annual Plan in partnership with site leadership to drive the strategy of the EHS function at the site, including a tactical plan to achieve results

  • Organize, maintain, & communicate EHS policies to ensure compliance with Legal, RTX, & Collins rules and regulations

  • Support the programs, processes, and procedures to improve the EHS culture for employees and contractors

  • Drives all EHS regulatory reporting requirements. Responsible for appropriate procedures, approvals, coordination and control of EHS Regulations applicable to the site

  • Implementing leading and lagging performance indicators

  • Support the investigation, root cause determination, and development of corrective actions for incidents, both injury and environmental

  • Use the EHS Smart reporting system to maintain EHS information

  • Support the completion of audits & inspections and present findings at to the site EHS Management Committee

  • Coordinates with business partners for EHS the concerns regarding facilities and employee practices

  • Perform various tasks associated with Safety, Health, Environment, Compliance, and Management Systems

  • Collaborate with site leadership to ensure the maintenance of the RTX EHS Management System

  • Facilitate the development and completion of activities of various EHS subcommittees

  • Support the development of a positive EH&S culture

  • Participate in site and business meetings to discuss EHS performance and improvement plans

What You Will Learn


  • Gain experience in developing and implementing EHS programs tailored to a manufacturing facility.

  • Learn how to manage safety incidents, including conducting investigations, root cause analysis, and developing corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to prevent recurrence.

  • Develop strong collaboration and communication skills by working closely with site leadership, operations teams, and external stakeholders (such as regulatory agencies and contractors).

Qualifications You Must Have


  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience 

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here:  https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • Experience being a people leader in EH&S.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with all levels of an organization.

  • Experience being a visible presence at sites, demonstrated inspiring leadership qualities through active engagement with team to build trust, provide support, and foster a culture of continuous learning and collaboration.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
