Clinic Access Coach (Project Policy Anl 3) Patient Contact Center Department Description The UC Davis Health Patient Contact Center is a developing service area tasked with providing the highest possible levels of patient / customer service to consumers seeking services or information within the health system. Contacts will be related to, but not limited to scheduling appointments and associated activities (registration, insurance verification, etc.), facilitating communication between patients and physicians, between physicians and other providers, and assisting with any questions consumers may have. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities The Clinic Access Coach (CAC) functions as a resource to facilitate patient access and scheduling best practices for ambulatory clinics and the Patient Contact Center. The Clinic Access Coach is a subject matter expert in central scheduling and referral workflows in EMR. They align clinics and the PCC to Ambulatory Access Standards and analyze provider templates and scheduling workflows to maximize patient access for assigned clinics. The Clinic Access Coach liaisons between the PCC and assigned clinics to create a direct conduit for physicians and clinic leadership to engage in process improvement and/or problem resolution. The CAC will coordinate clinic change requests, assist with template utilization and decision tree optimization, provide analytics on access data, and assist with report creation for Practice Managers and Clinic Medical Directors. Required Qualifications Experience with Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR), including template maintenance and scheduling functionalities. Minimum two (2) years of health care related experience. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Ability to apply advanced problem-resolution skills to highly complex issues, quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner. Excellent organizational skills and capacity to manage many interrelated tasks. Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals to secure and/or provide information to clarify situations, and resolve problems Experience using analytical, research, and other techniques. Analyzes complex situations or problems and contributes to their resolution. Skills to analyze complex information or problems in an objective manner and derives logical conclusions to provide a sound basis for establishing priorities, selecting appropriate courses of action for pursuit or recommendations to others, and to resolve conflicts Ability to think proactively and function independently Proven ability to compose reports, correspondence and summaries in a comprehensive organized format Results-oriented and conscientious attitude Excellent written and oral communication skills Must be a team player, proactive, professional, creative, innovative and inquisitive with an interest in mastering new skills Emotional stability is needed to deal with stressful situations Can articulate and support the UCDH mission, vision, and values as well as departmental goals Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality of hospital and patient information at all times Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point). Special Requirements Must possess strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, coworkers, and staff throughout UCDHS. Work to establish good rapport and professional working relationship with all departmental personnel. Readily assists co-workers. Maintains appropriate interdepartmental communication. This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
