Clinical Lab Scientist, Per Diem | University of California San Francisco - Military Veterans

The Clinical lab Scientist in Transfusion Services will perform Transfusion Service procedures, both routine and Stat; Communicate effectively; Enter date/test results into computer accurately; Use and/or operate equipment in transfusion service operation; Perform additional tests, projects or special studies as requested. Workdays and hours are subject to change reflecting the laboratory needs. (Variable) Monday through Friday, with weekend rotation, occasional assigned mandatory overtime and rotated paid on call hours. Some earlier or later shifts may be required. Typical shift hours are: Day 0730-1600, evening 1530-0000, night 2330-0730, swing 1230-2100 with some slight variations. Transfusion Service has 3 separate labs: Parnassus, Mission Bay, and Mount Zion. The CLS will have a primary work location but may be required to rotate to one of the other locations if workload dictates. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role. For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
