To help maintain and grow this standard, we're seeking an experienced Director of Programs and Community Outreach to oversee daily activities. The ideal candidate will have a sharp business mind and proven success in fulfilling the operational needs of the community engagement program at RLTAC and assisting with program development. This candidate will work to help ensure that the center remains a valuable resource that addresses the needs and interests of the local population while promoting athletics, education, and community well-being. Overall, the Director of Programs and Community Outreach for the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center (RLTAC) plays a crucial role in fostering relationships and collaborations within the community. Responsible for building positive relationships and maintaining sustainable partnerships with participants and staff onsite and offsite. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of The Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center is responsible for overseeing and advancing the Center's vision for community engagement and ensuring its understanding of athletics, education, and community interests, needs and priorities. Essential Functions: Works with Executive Director, College Event Manager and Director of Operations Enhance and expand existing programming by developing and implementing new initiatives that effectively address the evolving needs of the community. Develop and implement strategies to engage the local community, including residents, schools, and businesses. Establish and maintain partnerships with local organizations, non-profits, and educational institutions to enhance the center's community impact. Organize and oversee community events, sports programs, and educational initiatives to promote the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center as a hub for community activities. Serve as a liaison between the center and the community, ensuring effective communication of programs, events, and opportunities. Work closely with internal stakeholders such as facility management, sports teams, and administrative staff to align community engagement efforts with the center's mission and goals. Conduct regular assessments to understand the needs and interests of the community, tailoring programs and initiatives accordingly. Develop and implement PR strategies to enhance the center's visibility in the community and create a positive public image. Collaborate with the development team to identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grant writing and community fundraising initiatives. Advocate for the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in local government forums, emphasizing its positive impact on the community. Track and evaluate the success of community engagement initiatives, providing regular reports to leadership on the outcomes and areas for improvement. Manage the budget and resources allocated to community engagement efforts. This includes ensuring that funds are used effectively to achieve the center's goals. Ensures that the Center's programs and activities align with the community's interests in athletics and education. They might work to develop programs that provide educational opportunities through athletics or promote a healthy lifestyle. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field (e.g., community development, sports management, public relations). Master's degree preferred. 6 years of minimum experience Experience in community engagement, event planning, and program management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of the local community and its needs. Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships. Understanding of sports and athletic programs is a plus. Grant writing and fundraising experience is desirable. Location: Roxburycampus Unit Status: Non-Unit Professional Hours: 37.5 hours per week. The hours for this position may vary based on programming needs and the scheduling of events.
