Accounts Receivable Specialist - Military Veterans

Construction company seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of accounts receivable transactions. You will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and internal stakeholders to manage billing, collections, and resolve any outstanding issues related to accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities:

Generate and send accurate invoices to clients based on contract terms and project milestones.
Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and follow up with clients to ensure timely payments.
Resolve billing discrepancies and issues promptly, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Work closely with project managers to understand project status and billing requirements.
Maintain accurate records of client interactions, payment status, and collections activities.
Prepare and distribute monthly statements and reports to management.
Coordinate with internal teams to reconcile accounts and address client inquiries.
Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of billing and collections processes.

Requirements:

Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or similar role, preferably in the construction industry.
Knowledge of construction billing processes and familiarity with AIA billing forms is a plus.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record keeping.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
