Job Summary and Qualifications

The CDI Concurrent Review and Query Lead will support the Concurrent Review and Query leadership team in operational processes and workflows related to CDI. This individual will serve as a resource to CDI Staff for questions related to the timely and accurate completion of concurrent reviews and queries. The Concurrent Review and Query Lead must possess excellent communication skills, proven motivational capabilities, and have an executive presence. This individual can work effectively with the organization and support remote teams across a diversity of work styles and personalities.

In addition to demonstrating consistent performance of all CDI functions, the Concurrent Review and Query Lead will:


  • Guide the CDI staff toward desired outcomes, setting high performance standards and delivering quality services.

  • Communicate professionally, clearly and assertively.

  • Hold strong organizational skills and the ability to proactively prioritize needs to effectively manage resources.

  • Demonstrate ability to foster a team building and environment.

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the CDI Concurrent Review and Query team.

  • Work with the Concurrent Review and Query Manager on outcomes and trends to establish priorities of team.

  • Support the Concurrent Review and Query Manager to plan for operational and workflow optimization related projects.

  • Monitors staff adherence to operational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with CDI Standards.

  • Oversees the daily activities of the Concurrent Review and Query team, ensuring department standards are met, real-time mentoring is provided, and education to CDI staff is given when necessary.

  • Act as secondary level reviewer, assess work distribution, as well as assign and reassign work to ensure timeliness and equitable distribution of case load across the team.

  • Support collaboration across teams to improve and enhance operational and workflow efficiencies.

Self-Development


  • Demonstrate proficiency in current and emerging technologies.

  • Excellent personal computer skills (MS Outlook, MS Office, Excel, EMR, 3M, Iodine and other related software).

  • Independently take proactive steps toward problem resolution.

  • Complete all mandatory and assigned education by established deadlines.

Requirements: 


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience 

  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare experience 

  • 1+ year of experience in inpatient CDI 

  • Registered Nurse - Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse or any credential nationally recognized as administered through AHIMA or ACDIS
