Our Miami smelter and rod plant is nestled just 90 miles east of Phoenix. Description



Under minimal supervision, provides technical knowledge and guidance for designated interface groups. Provides installation, diagnostics, repair and reliability of industrial control systems and equipment.



  • Interface between staff engineers, external technical representatives, operations, and maintenance personnel. Experience with control system maintenance and associated project development/implementation.

  • Provide installation, diagnostics, repair and reliability of industrial control equipment (i.e. instrumentation, industrial communications, DCS, HMI, PLC, PC interface, and third party equipment).

  • Actively participate in safety and environmental programs and other programs determined by management.

  • Perform other duties as requested.





Qualifications



Minimum Qualifications



  • Completion of an approved electrical/instrumentation certification program and one (1) year of experience in process automation repair and maintenance in an industrial setting, OR

  • Five (5) years combination electrical/instrumentation or process automation repair and maintenance in an industrial setting with minimum (1) year of experience in process automation repair and maintenance in an industrial setting

  • Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills/abilities and/or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

  • Ability to pass 75% of the Process Automation assessment

  • Valid State Driver’s License

  • Experience in SCADA, HMI/PLC or DCS based control systems

  • Strong technical knowledge in communication, interfaces and protocols

  • Ability to read, understand and apply information from technical manuals, prints, and schematics for trouble shooting and repair

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime as business needs dictate

  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job at the time of the job offer with or without reasonable accommodations


Preferred



  • Capable of specifying instrumentation and components for projects

  • Familiar with advanced instrumentation methods, e.g. PSM, PERI, Metso Visio products

  • Commissioning of modern motor control

  • Project design and creation of PCS (process control systems)/ HMI projects

  • Creates/modifies advanced graphical objects

  • Modification/troubleshooting of Process Control narratives

  • Familiar/ knowledge of advanced loops such as cascade and feed forward

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $35.00 - $47.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors.
