Job Overview



This position is a liaison between PSSR’s, Customers and the General Management Team. The position is responsible for the profitability, retention, development and growth of PSSR’s within Komatsu East.  This position will focus on business volume, growth and customer satisfaction overseeing and supporting all Komatsu East PSSR’s. This position will also be responsible for improving the Company’s product support market share in the assigned territory and will work directly with senior leadership to identify areas of focus in their regions.



Key Job Responsibilities





  • Work with PSSRs to provide support with new and existing customers.


  • Promote all Komatsu corporate and local initiatives.  Understand where to find and interpret Komatsu Parts Programs and works closely with area DPSM to implement them.


  • Work directly with GM of Product Support across multiple regions to provide feedback and guidance on PSSR performance.


  • Work closely with Senior Leadership to understand programs, incentives and goals for Komatsu East and implement these with the PSSR work group.


  • Provide input on annual goal setting for PSSR work group.


  • Review parts and service trends across Komatsu East and holds PSSRs accountable for growth in their respective region.


  • Identify market opportunities within PSSR regions for Komatsu/Allied Products and 3rd party equipment.  Work to implement ways to support these opportunities based on demographic.


  • Coach PSSRs to stay on task, with in-person quarterly meetings and monthly TEAMS meetings.


  • Work with PSSRs to review customer lists and target growth potential in region, identifying areas of focus/improvement/accountability.


  • Attend customer meetings with PSSRs to support potential sales, rebuild opportunities, K-Care offerings, and assist with disputes as needed.


  • Travel to each region monthly, spending time with each PSSR and GM of Product Support to address victories/fires.


  • Attend Training, Trade Shows, Customer Events, JoiFul Meetings, etc.




Qualifications/Requirements





  • Must be able to apply the seven principles of the KOMATSU Way to their everyday work activities where applicable.


  • Strong commitment to safety in all aspects of position and with each internal and external customers and employees.


  • At least 10 years of experience in the equipment or related industry with direct product support and sales experience preferred.


  • Excellent time management and problem solving skills to independently handle diverse business needs of varied importance, including the proper treatment of confidential information.


  • Effective interpersonal communication skills and ability to procure cooperation of team members.


  • Prior management/leadership experience a plus.


  • Up to 75% travel.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization.  We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.  In the United States, we have a presence in 16 states across the US with 30 primary sites.  We have approximately 1,200 employees.   

Our group supports field operations at the customer mine sites as well as shop operations at the Distribution and Service Centers.  A large part of our workforce focuses includes technical trades.
