Assistant Professor, Speech-Language Pathology - Erie Position Summary: Gannon University's Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences is seeking applications for a teaching track faculty member in the newly developed Master of Science degree program in Speech-Language Pathology in Erie, PA. This is a full-time, 12-month position with a start date of July 1, 2024. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience. Applicants with experience in the areas of early intervention, school-age speech and language development, fluency disorders, voice disorders, cognitive communicative disorders, dysphagia, and AAC preferred, but open to expertise in all areas within the scope of practice. Responsibilities for teaching-track faculty include classroom teaching, clinical supervision, advising graduate students in academic and clinical aspects of professional growth, and service to the University, profession, and community. The master's (M.S.) program in speech-language pathology at Gannon University is a candidate for accreditation from the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. This position is available to begin July 1, 2024. The successful candidate will report to the SLP Program Director as his/her immediate supervisor. The essential functions of a full-time teaching track faculty member at Gannon University are summarized below and are detailed in the faculty handbook, Volume IV of the Institutional Policy Manual. 1. Teach 27 credit hours in the academic year or as otherwise specified by the faculty member's appointment notice; student course evaluations are to be completed in each course. Faculty are expected to employ sound pedagogical practices and to use technology as appropriate, including the University's learning management system. Faculty shall assist with course revisions and curriculum development, as needed. 2. Achieve appropriate student-learning outcomes in all courses taught. 3. Participate in service to the University, the community, and to their profession. Attend convocations, commencement exercises, and community meetings. 4. Participate in ongoing professional development. 5. Assist, advise, and mentor students enrolled in the University. 6. Provide clinical supervision to students in the on-campus clinic. 7. Fulfill the essential duties and responsibilities of a faculty member as described in Volume IV of the Gannon University Institutional Policy Manual, which contains the approved policies and procedures of the University concerning the terms and conditions of faculty employment at the University. Required Qualifications: Education/Experience : Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Licenses and Certifications : ASHA CCC-SLP required; candidates must have or be eligible for Speech-Language Pathology licensure in Pennsylvania. Rank : In accordance with the Universitys standards, the Dean of the Morosky College of Health Professions and Sciences award initial rank at the time of employment.
