Senior Manager, Talent Management - Military Veterans

RESPONSIBILITIES

Howmet Aerospace Inc. has an exciting opportunity to join a great Human Resources team as the Senior Manager, Talent Management. This position will serve as the Head of Talent Management Center of Excellent (CoE) and is responsible for the design, development and execution of global talent management and development initiatives. As the subject matter expert and leader in this space, you will play a key role scaling high-impact leadership and employment development programs for our global population.

This role sits at Howmet's Corporate Headquarters located in Pittsburgh, PA.

Major activities/key challenges:

  • Understand Howmet's strategic priorities, business strategies and standard processes to align the global talent management strategy accordingly; partners with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and DEI CoEs to ensure a cohesive approach to growing and engaging Howmet's employees
  • Consult with Business and HR Leaders to proactively assess talent development needs, delivering impactful talent programs, processes, tools and technology in areas such as leadership development, mentorship programs, succession planning, performance management and career development; establish metrics and evaluation methods to measure program effectiveness and impact
  • Lead the global performance management process that reinforces corporate performance philosophy and aligns with compensation practices
  • Recruit, retain and engage a small Talent Management team; foster an environment of innovation HR/Talent Management thinking, accountability and collaboration
  • Conceptualize, design, produce and deliver training, communication and tools to assist HR teams in communicating, executing, and monitoring talent initiatives; Establish change management plans to facilitate faster adoption to changes in process, policies, and practices, including key stakeholder management and alignment
  • Provide Organizational Development consultation and customized interventions that facilitate the successful development of teams within the organization
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices; conduct research and benchmarking to define/source solutions in line with Howmet's priorities and talent management strategy
  • Partner with HR technology teams to continuously align business processes and technology platforms, inform the prioritization technology resources and activities, and assist in ensuring the adoption and operational efficiency of those systems
  • Consult with Global HR customers to validate corporate system requirements and propose solutions that meet their daily work objectives and help them make decisions
  • Create and manage procedures and work instructions for standard processes across the talent management & development function. Advise and provide input to talent management policies
  • Report on performance metrics associated to each program to support decision making related to program investments, improvements, prioritization and ongoing effectiveness
  • Guide, monitor and manage internal team and external vendors (budget and resources) to achieve agreed-upon objectives and plans. Facilitate cross-business program planning initiatives related to talent
Essential knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Expertise in planning, designing and delivering a variety of Talent Management related activities and programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information appropriately to a variety of audiences
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills; capable of building trusting relationships across all levels and influencing without direct authority
  • Comfortable presenting to large and diverse audiences, including senior leadership
  • Open mindedness and flexibility to anticipate and respond quickly to changing needs of the organization
  • A problem solver, forward thinking with a creative and solution oriented approach
  • Highly collaborative; capable of bringing teams together and building consensus
  • Self-motivation, capable of taking initiative to proactively problem solve and identify solutions with minimal oversight
  • Solid influencing skills; can interpret and evaluate information objectively to effectively influence and guide senior leaders in decisioning
  • Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities, team members, and stakeholders in a de-centralized environment
  • A change agent; adept at delivering business results by bringing in new approaches and perspectives
  • Solid business acumen to understand the nuances of running and maintaining effective teams


QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading Talent Management initiatives and programs in a global organization
  • Willing and able to travel to company locations (domestic and international) 10%-15% of the time
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in human resources, business management, organizational effectiveness/psychology, or other related field
  • Certification(s) related to talent management, human resources, or other related fields
  • Experience supporting organizations through other HR CoEs such as Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, and HR Business Partnering
Salary Range: $120k - $140k/year approximation (actual compensation is subject to variation due to factors such as education, experience, skillset, and/org location).
