License Compliance Coordinator | University of Nebraska Lincoln - Military Veterans

Requisition Number: S_240563 Department: NUtech Ventures-0931 Description of Work: The License Compliance Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of compliance for NUtech's license portfolio. This includes managing a database of all agreements for the organization, docketing obligations, and ensuring compliance for all financial and non-financial transactional activities related to the license agreements and interinstitutional agreements. This role also manages the license compliance aspects of industry-sponsored funding agreements. The License Compliance Coordinator is responsible for establishing a professional relationship with licensees. This role ensures proper payments and reports are received from licensees and royalty distributions and other payments are correctly made. The incumbent in this position must be highly organized and detail-oriented and needs to understand the language in license agreements and extract pertinent financial terms and obligations for entry into a monitoring and reporting database. The coordinator sends invoices and makes direct contact with licensees for payment obligations. This role may supervise a business intern. This position is responsible for data integrity, reporting to internal and external stakeholders, and database administration. The License Compliance Coordinator works collaboratively with UNL Business & Finance and Accounting to ensure accurate and timely payment processing, revenue-based financial data for completion of corporate financial statements, and royalty distribution to inventors and other parties. The position monitors existing license agreements and analyzes trends in royalty payments to identify licensees that may be in breach of contract or whether royalty audits should be pursued. All activities are performed with the goal of delivering the highest quality of service to NUtech's customers (university inventors, licensees, university startups, and external stakeholders). Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two years of experience working in compliance, business/finance role, accounting, audit proceedings or related field OR advanced degree in a business or legal field and one year of experience in compliance, business/finance role, accounting, audit proceedings or related field . Previous experience managing financial data, managing contracts or administration of a database. Demonstrated high level of organization and being detail oriented. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel and knowledge of basic accounting principles involving revenue and expenses necessary. Preferred Qualifications: Graduate degree in a relevant field.Four years of experience working in compliance, business/finance role, accounting, audit proceedings or related experience. Experience with university research licensing, technology licensing compliance or university business. Working knowledge of patents and other intellectual property.Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Posted Salary: $60,000/yr minimum Job Type: Full-Time
