Technical Expert, Mechanical Plant Maintenance - Military Veterans

To provide guidance and technical advice to the national counterpart to develop, manage, direct and control the mechanical maintenance activities of thickeners, pumps, flotation, filters equipment as part of Mill Mechanical Maintenance to ensure maximum plant availability and maintenance works compliance at specified cost, quality and time in order to achieve the targets set by PT. Freeport Indonesia.


Additional Responsibilities:


•             Promote safety and environmental awareness for him/herself, contractors and among Concentrating Division employees in order to ensure compliances with the company safety and environmental procedures and programs.


•             Review Systems Operating Procedures (SOP) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) in order to provide standardized guidelines for him/her and thickening, pumping, flotation and filtering maintenance team of Mill Mechanical Maintenance. 


•             Support General Superintendents and Maintenance Engineers to plan, organize, control, and direct the maintenance activities within thickening, pumping, flotation, filtering maintenance team of Mill Mechanical Maintenance, including preventive & corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis and follow up activities to meet availability & productivity and reliability target of thickening, pumping, flotation and filtering system as part of Mill Mechanical Equipment.


•             Support General Superintendents to develop, maintain and optimize 52-week shutdown schedule and maintenance activities within thickening, pumping, flotation and filtering maintenance team of Mill Mechanical Maintenance.


•             Review, evaluate and maintain preventive maintenance activities & shutdown/overhaul works to meet the relevant requirements & targets in a more efficient and effective fashion.


•             Liaise with other departments internal and external of Concentrating Division with regards to thickening, pumping, flotation, filtering activities of Mill Mechanical Maintenance.


•             Provide shutdown support to thickening, pumping, flotation, filtering teams of Mill Mechanical Maintenance to meet equipment availability target.


•             Provide mechanical expertise and maintenance strategy support to the thickening, pumping, flotation, filtering team of Mill Mechanical Maintenance to accomplish quality, effective and efficient preventive and corrective maintenance works which are critical to meet equipment availability requirement.


•             Encourage maintenance crews to participate in the necessary training programs to improve and promote their skills and knowledge, which will result in a better skilled team of thickening, pumping, flotation, filtering crew with more positive and useful contribution for the quality of preventive and corrective maintenance activities.


•             Support General Superintendent to control contractors and consultants to ensure company's requirements are met.


•             Support the General Superintendent to develop annual operation budget, to provide guideline for the forthcoming year for thickening, pumping, flotation, filtering of Mill Mechanical Maintenance. 


•             Advise the General Superintendent on the development, monitoring, evaluation of subordinates, to contribute to the development of a professional team.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in an industrial environment (preferably in mining industry) with an emphasis on Plant & Process Maintenance OR Diploma / Technical High School Certificate in the same field with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in the same environment.

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in an underground working environment.

  • Fluent in English (oral and written) and willing to learn Bahasa.

  • Strong negotiation skills.
