The Event Preparedness Lead Strategist is a subject matter expert responsible for the development, implementation, sustainment, and quality assurance of a comprehensive event preparedness program. The role will lead Truist teammates, event coordinators, marketing teams, and others in event preparedness through education, training, liaison, and security planning. The role leads, or assists leadership, in a program to develop, maintain, and exercise event emergency response plans. The role will frequently liaise with disparate event planning groups distributed across the enterprise. The role supports policy development, standards, and procedures, and ensures regulatory compliance. The role will coordinate with external event preparedness partners including fire, police, EMS, and local, state, and federal emergency management. The role will also work closely with various corporate functions including Physical Security, Executive Protection, the Security and Intelligence Operations Center, and the contract Security Officer force.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Ensure that the organization delivers on its Duty of Care obligation to teammates at Truist events.
2.    Lead pre-event safety and preparedness planning and coordinate event response to physical security emergencies until resolved or escalated outside of the physical security category.
3.    Act as a role owner for enterprise physical security event preparedness activities including teammate training, plan development, and after-action risk identification.  
4.    Maintain the Event Safety intelligence program in conjunction with the SIOC intelligence team.  
5.    Act as the event security liaison with local, state, and federal emergency management organizations. 
6.    Create or maintain policies, procedures, and established objectives.
7.    Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1.    Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  
2.    10 years of experience in emergency management, event security, or related experience.
3.    Experience in developing and facilitating event security plans and exercises. 
4.    Experience in leading large-scale multi-site event security planning. 
5.    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating the ability to interact with and influence management and business partners based on data analytics and experience.
6.    Strong decision-making ability during emergencies. 
7.    Knowledge of event security procedures, crowd management, mass communications, emergency management, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes. 
8.    Ability to respond to events on short notice and outside of normal business hours.
9.    Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products. 


Preferred Qualifications:
1.    Industry Certifications to include one or more of the following: ATAP – Certified Threat Manager, ASIS – Certified Protection Professional (CPP), IAEM – Certified Emergency Manager, Center for Homeland Defense and Security – Executive Leaders Program, Center for Homeland Defense and Security – Emergence Program, UNC – Gilling School - Certificate in Community Preparedness and Disaster Management
2.    Banking or financial services experience. 
3.    Prior program management experience
4.    Experience with the Everbridge platform including mass communications, VCC, and CEM.
