Location: Bedford, MA Category: Part-time Faculty Posted On: Tue Jun 18 2024 Job Description: Title: Adjunct Instructor - Math Unit: DCE Adjunct Faculty Department: STEM Reports to: Dean of STEM Date: June 18, 2024 General Summary: Middlesex Community College seeks to fill part-time math faculty positions for in-person lecture beginning the fall2024 semester. The College's part-time math faculty are knowledgeable and creative professionals who have a demonstrated commitment to working with the College's diverse students and community. The College is committed to hiring creative and knowledgeable individuals that have expertise in this area. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide instruction for a group of up to 28 students in a classroom Ability to instruct in at least one of the following courses: statistics, math for liberal arts, and precalculus for business Develop and use student-centered pedagogies Develop and use assessment strategies that maximize the developmental learning process and measure student learning outcomes Develop and apply instructional methods that engage students of varying learning styles and abilities Develop and apply technology in and out of the classroom Use Blackboard Learning Management System to post syllabi, assignments, and grades Fulfill terms of the faculty contract as set out in the Agreement between the Board of Higher Education and the Massachusetts Community College Council/Massachusetts Teachers Association Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in mathematics, mathematics education or closely related field Classroom teaching of high school or college math courses Demonstrated commitment to diversity, continuous professional improvement, developmental education, inclusive pedagogies and use of technology to support student learning Willingness to work collegially with a diverse body of faculty and staff Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the role of the community college in higher education Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and varying physical and learning abilities. Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual Working knowledge of MS Word, Blackboard LMS, and PC Additional Information: Salary Range: DCE Adjunct Faculty are paid in accordance with the DCE Step Levels provided in the Collective Bargaining Agreement .
