Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Dental Hygienist - Per Diem - NYU Langone Ambulatory Care Lake Succes.

In this role, the successful candidate Position will work under the supervision of the office manager and the orthodontist on a daily basis

Job Responsibilities:


    • Supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment room, patient, instruments, and materials.

    • Maintain correct patient treatment statuses

    • Help the front desk to conform appointment as needed by calling patients.

    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    • Conserves dental resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

    • Maintains dental supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies.

    • Ensures operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturers instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques

    • Educate parent to make tapes for their newborn for home use

    • Make infant lip and retention tapes.

    • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.

    • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

    • Assist Dr. in accessing treatment card, patient imaging

    • E-mail post treatment instructions.

    • Educates patients by giving oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions.

    • Change Patient GPS in the treatment card

    • Make sure patient demographic are updated periodically

    • Burn CBCT scan Data on a disk to send to referring Dr. and the patients

    • Transfer CBCT, 2D radiographs and 3D photographs from Romexis to Dolphin imaging

    • Scan patients history and privacy documents to the patient treatment card

    • Organize Dental Laboratory and maintain it clean

    • Upload digital scan form the Itero or 3Shape to the Patients treatment card

    • Receive appliance from dental laboratory and file them appropriate.

    • Post- Procession the 3D printed models

    • 3D print models using the 3 D printer.

    • Laboratory appliance fabrication like removal retainer and aligners

    • Help pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.

    • Clean the room after completion of the procedure

    • Provides materials and instrument to the treating Doctor chair side

    • Assembles instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area, positioning instruments for dentists access, suctioning, and passing instruments.

    • Provides information to patients and employees by answering questions and requests.

    • Readies patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping patient.

    • Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma
1 year experience of chairside dental assisting
2+ years of orthodontic dental assisting preferred

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $20.59 - $26.78 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
