Job Overview

The Communication Access Services Program Coordinator is responsible for interpreting and real time captioning (CART) support and administering the program of direct communication access services for deaf and hard of hearing students, faculty, staff and visitors at the University of Cincinnati.

Essential Functions

• Manage the scheduling of ASL interpreters and CART services providers to ensure that service requests are filled

• Collect and analyze data on services provided

• Support the development of service program objectives and monitor quantitative and qualitative data on progress toward objectives

• Review objectives to identify problems and solutions, prioritize solutions and develop action steps for program improvement.

• Provide financial administrative support for program initiatives.

• Develop, administer and analyze assessment/evaluation questionnaires.

• Interact with staff faculty, external agencies and other university departments.

• May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

• Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

Conversational in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
