Job Summary and Qualifications

The Med/Surg & Ortho RN Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives.

What you will do in this role:


  • Help create a superior clinical identity by operationalizing evidence-based practices to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes. Ensures adherence to standards of care.

  • Work cohesively to develop standards and procedures for providing and improving quality patient care.

  • Make recommendations and changes to policies using evidence-based research.

  • Promote strong working relations with other departments in the facility.

  • Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. 

  • Utilize therapeutic communication in daily practice. 

  • Participate in performance improvement activities to assure continuous quality improvement. Follows patient safety standards.

  • Promote good public relations for the department and TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality and satisfaction.

What qualifications you will need:


  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of practice or approved compact state required

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

  • 5 years of acute care nursing care experience preferred

  • 3-5 years of Charge RN or equivalent experience preferred

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 90 days of hire

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 6 months of hire
