General Summary
Layne Pump Installer is responsible for well pump repair, installation and troubleshooting on water well projects, as well as guiding on site team.
Job Accountabilities:
- Responsible for water pump repair, installation and troubleshooting
- Job preparation including assembling parts, supplies and materials
- Will train and direct Pump Technicians on job site and maintain a safe working environment
- Responsible for maintaining and repairing company issued equipment
- Responsible for well rehabilitation efforts using chemicals and mechanical means
- Job requires some paperwork including JHAs, safety reporting, driving logs, timesheets
Qualifications:
- Must have 1-3 years previous pump installation and repair experience as Pump Installer
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and Class A CDL
- Must have working understanding of pumps, motors, wells, electricity, controls, piping, rigging, chemicals and well rehabilitation tools
- Must be extremely safety conscious and understand hazards and dangers associated with the job
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to maintain company equipment including pump rig, service truck, welder, generator, hand tools, power tools, grinders, drills, chain wrenches and comealong
- Ability to read, write and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to problem solve when faced with obstacles
- Ability to speak with clients and train new employees
- Requires ability to travel out of town for up to 2 weeks at a time
- Must be able to pass a drug test and fit for duty physical
- Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment
- Ability and willingness to abide by the Company's Code of Conduct on a daily basis

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to operate a small hand tools. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
