WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Divisional Philanthropy Senior Partner to support our Southwest and Rocky Mountain Division. This is a remote position and the successful candidate will reside in the Division (Colorado, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nevada, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana or Texas). This position will require travel throughout the Division, between 25% - 40%.

The Divisional Philanthropy Senior Partner will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective donors from a division perspective. They will provide significant divisional support and expand donor financial support of the American Red Cross and grow assigned portfolio of donors, sponsors and prospects to meet monthly, quarterly and annual revenue goal greater than $3,000,000. As required, they will serve as operational resource to less experienced team members to ensure consistent and effective implementation of donor development plans.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):   

Implement overall fundraising strategy for assigned donor portfolio and/or line of service needs at the Division level. Manage and develop corporation and/or foundation accounts for 7 figure donors and more complex donor solicitation that crosses region or division boundaries.  

Analyze information about potential contributors for strategy development.  Make decisions about which individuals and/or companies to target as donors.

Implement Division fundraising growth initiatives.  Build capacity to identify, cultivate and solicit donors and blood drive sponsors by providing educational, technical and program support.

Participate directly in the solicitation of funds from high-level contributors. Responsible for portfolio with target of $3,000,000+.

Provide guidance to development staff.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline required. 

Experience: Minimum 7 years of fundraising and/or sales leadership experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Must have extensive knowledge of fundraising and/or sales principles and techniques in large organizations.  Must have successful track record in solicitation of large fund amounts. A current valid driver's license and good driving record is required.

Management Experience: N/A

Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational, collaborative, analytical, presentation and communication (interpersonal, oral and written) skills.  Good project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.  Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.  Knowledge of fundraising database systems (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce.com).  Ability to work on a team.

PAY INFORMATION:

The salary range for this position is $120,000-$125,000. 

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.
