C/F Technician - Military Veterans

Job Purpose


We are now accepting applications a C/F Technician in department 70, at the main plant.  The shift is currently for A-shift, but is subject to change based on an internal posted shift change.  This is a skill and qualification position, so to be considered you must meet the job requirements.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities



Essential job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:



  • Transport cells or batteries to circuits.                

  • Connect cells or batteries to circuits.                

  • Remove and install charging connectors.                

  • Fill cells and level cells with acid during charging.                

  • Water cells on charge.                

  • Disconnect cells or batteries from circuits and transport as needed.                

  • Burn in or remove forming wire.                

  • Read and adjust gravity.                

  • Operate overs and dry chargers.                

  • Stack and transport plates.                

  • Count and record various production records.                

  • Maintain and clean charging and forming areas.                

  • Perform daily housekeeping, hygiene & cleanliness procedures.                

  • Work overtime as required.                

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications



  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • At least one (1) year of manufacturing, distribution center, or related experience.  Related experience includes work in mining, construction, or maintenance fields.

  • At least one (1) year of experience with material handling equipment.

  • Proficiency with computers and computer based programs.


 


Competencies:



  • Proficiency with computers and computer based programs.

  • Ability to calculate data and maintain data in spreadsheets.

  • Ability read and interpret schematics and blueprints of batteries and modules.

  • Ability to use and maintain electronic devices used to measure amperage and voltage.

  • Basic understanding of electrical flow process.

  • Safely handle hazardous material such as sulfuric acid.

  • Must be able to perform quality inspections in absence of Quality Inspector.

  • Obtain and maintain Fork Truck license for a variety of  truck types.

  • Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on Formation equipment.

  • Ability to perform basic mathematical equations and formulas.

  • Must be able to work safely in hazardous conditions with high voltage and sulfuric acid.





General Job Requirements



  • Must be able to frequently bend; twist; reach; stoop; kneel or crouch.

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds/23 kilos on a daily continuous basis. Anything heavier will be done with the assistance of a mechanical device or with the assistance of another employee.

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time

  • Employees are responsible for wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment in the proper manner at all times.

  • Must be able and willing to wear a respirator.

  • Must be able and willing to work varying schedules which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays.

  • This position is exposed to harmful materials such as lead/fiberglass products. Periodic blood tests are required to measure the level of lead. Precautions are taken by the company/employee to reduce the risk of exposure and help ensure everyones safety.

  • This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
