WestRock's West Point paper mill is seeking an hourly Mechanical Maintenance Technician with the ability to provide primary millwright skills for the West Point Mill.

How you will impact WestRock:


  • Participate in all department safety programs.

  • Flexibility to work in a multi-craft role and contribute to accomplishing results in a team- based environment.

  • Good understanding of the types and application of equipment lubrication.

  • Effective troubleshooting abilities.

  • Ability to read and understand equipment manuals & drawings.

  • Ability to properly document repairs and inspections.

  • Computer skills adequate to look up bill of materials & stores parts, enter work results, and complete work orders.

  • Good working knowledge of rigging equipment and techniques.

  • Ability to measure, lay out, and fabricate repair parts.


What you need to succeed:

For a Class 1 Helper:

  • Five years of relevant industrial experience at a journeyman mechanic's level, or

  • Two-year technical degree in mechanical technology, or four years' relevant technical military experience

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability and willingness to work shift work.


For a Class A Journeyman:

  • Ten years of relevant industrial experience at a journeyman mechanics or electrician/instrumentation level - or

  • Five years of relevant industrial or military experience and a two-year technical degree

  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability and willingness to work shift work.
