Sr. Manager Flammability Certification Engineering


What you will do:


• Monitors project plans, schedules, and report progress for projects. Identifies, develops, and gathers necessary resources to ensure project completion.
• Manages all Flammability aspects of an engineering project and programs. Allocates resources, drives strategic planning, and assigns tasks to ensure business targets are met.
• Directs the work of employees assigned on complex projects in technical report writing.
• Conducts project meetings and prepares reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team.
• Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and supervises project staff to meet project targets and milestones.
• Identifies and reacts to complex project problems and recommends solutions, such as reallocating resources, and assisting resolution development.
• Acts as a primary contact with key customers and develops professional relationship with customers and understands their needs to meet demands within the contracted scope.
• Oversees and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
• Liaises between project management and planning, project teams, and line management.
• Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
• Reviews project status, manages schedules and prepares reports.
• Monitors and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
• Directs the work of employees assigned on projects in technical and administrative areas.

Qualifications you must have:


  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience. 

  • In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.

Qualifications we prefer:

  • Direct experience with development Designing and certification of Aerospace Interiors Systems is preferred.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
