What You Will Do

Pratt & Whitney's Materials & Processes Engineering (MPE) organization is seeking a Nondestructive Evaluations (NDE) Manager to serve as the primary interface responsible for the coordination and execution of nondestructive evaluations. Key customers include, but are not limited to the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army, airlines and PW Programs. The responsibilities includes organizing workload and assessing priorities for NDE engineers, regular technical interchange with customers (internal and external), and ensuring timely project execution. 

• Lead a team of 10 engineers responsible for delivering new NDE applications and maintaining currently deployed applications and equipment.  Application types include eddy current, ultrasonic, thermal, visual (BSI) and other advanced inspection concepts.




• Obtain DOD/JPO approval for implementation on Military engines




• Work with equipment vendors on new application development and equipment needed for new applications as well as maintaining equipment for currently deployed inspections




• Equipment obsolescence management for currently deployed inspections




• Evaluate/develop probability of detection curves for field events.




• Assist Field Support Team

Qualifications You Must Have

• B.S. in Engineering or Material science is required. 




• Minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced engineering or material science degree in a related field with a minimum of 7 years experience




• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.




• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.




• Willingness to travel to engage with customers

Qualifications We Prefer

• NDE degree or Graduate degrees in Engineering are a plus




• Security clearance is a plus




• Demonstrated success in working across multi-functional organizations, and all levels of management




• Exhibited clear and effective communication, both verbal and written




• Confirmed effectiveness as a detail-oriented individual that possesses the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task in a flexible, fast-paced, and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlines

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
