Extension Associate (initial 3-year term) or Sr. Extension Associate (initial 5-year term), Cooperative and Agribusiness Enterprises, Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management, Cornell SC Johnson College of Business The person in this position is expected to work under the supervision and direction of a DYSON professorial faculty member to help provide high quality educational programs to assist managers, directors, and future agricultural leaders in enhancing the performance of cooperatives and agriculturally related businesses. Under this supervision, the person will coordinate operations of the Cooperative Enterprise Program (CEP), an existing program within DYSON focused on enhancing the performance of existing cooperative businesses and facilitating the development of emerging cooperative enterprise. CEP works collaboratively with the Northeast Cooperative Council (NECC), a non-profit member organization of agricultural cooperatives headquartered or doing business in the Northeast U.S. Accordingly, this person will serve as Executive Secretary & Treasurer of the NECC and work with them in administering educational activities and Council operations. Additional outreach and educational activities are expected related to the integration of co-curricular activities involving college students, young agricultural and cooperative leaders, and cooperative businesses for educational learning and networking activities. The person is expected to actively engage in seeking out sponsored and college funding opportunities, through creation of sponsored proposals, to contribute to their support annually. QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIRED: Master's or other graduate degree in agricultural economics, economics, business, or education. PhD, DVM or MD required for Sr. Extension Associate. Ability to plan and implement educational programs that are responsive and accessible to targeted audience needs. Demonstrated interest or experience in working with cooperative and agriculturally related business enterprises. Demonstrated interest or experience in working with college-level students and young/emerging leaders in cooperatives and agriculturally related business enterprises. Strong group and educational facilitation skills. Skillful in establishing and maintaining professional work relationships and networks. QUALIFICATIONS, PREFERRED: Demonstrated business planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programming for cooperative business and other agribusiness clientele. Successful experience in adult education. Ability to incorporate revenue generation into appropriate educational program initiatives including, but not limited to, program fees, partnership development, grant writing, and experience in budget development and management. APPOINTMENT TYPE: Cornell University Extension Associate or Sr. Extension Associate appointment, 50% FTE, with benefits. Renewal of the appointment is conditional on suitable performance and availability of outside grants and contracts to support the position. The position available is a 50% FTE appointment. Pay Range: $44,800.00 - $85,800.00 Pay Ranges: The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria: Prior relevant work or industry experience.
