Electrical Technician - Military Veterans

Our client is an American steel producer based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. With a production capacity of 13 million tons of steel, the company is the 3rd largest producer of carbon steel products in the United States. They are one of the largest domestic steel producers and metal recyclers in the United States, with one of the most diversified products and end-market portfolios in the domestic steel industry. They operate using a circular manufacturing model, producing lower-carbon-emission, quality steel using electric arc furnace (EAF) technology with recycled ferrous scrap as the primary input. They are currently looking to add talent for Shift Technicians and a day shift Electrical Technician in their Butler, Indiana location. Low cost of living area and great growth within the company.
Duties for this role:
- Perform electrical and electronic repair and periodic maintenance on equipment
- Maintenance and repair of all electrical devices in the facility
- Repair and optimization of drive control systems, PLC control systems and other closed loop industrial control systems
- Identify, design, and implement changes/upgraded which will increase the productivity or reliability of the process
- Understand the steel making process and integrate this knowledge with the knowledge of process control systems to improve productivity, quality and reliability
- Strong electrical knowledge of high and low voltage electrical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, breakers and power distribution systems, motors, motor control equipment instrumentation, AC/DC Drive systems
- Computer knowledge, networking and any programming experience a real plus
- Candidates must have a large aptitude for learning and will be taught (by classroom/ or experience)
Base salary, $80 - $95K, benefits and 401k, production bonus, a conversion bonus, overtime, benefits, and 401k. They have needs on the day shift, as well as 4 on 4 off rotating nights and days shift. The hiring manager is prior navy.
