As such, not everyone in the applicant pool for this position will be contacted and/or selected to teach.   Position Summary   The Alternative Licensure Program at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions . The ALP Coach will support alternative licensure candidates in their teaching assignments. This is a temporary coaching position that serves students in the fall and spring semesters. Applicants need to be available 5 days per week during the day for lesson observations, debriefs, and meetings with alternative licensure teachers. MSU Denver is particularly interested in applicants who have experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and a demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for under-represented and historically minoritized groups.   Responsibilities   Assist alternative licensure candidates in meeting the requirements of the Colorado Teacher Quality Standards  Conduct a minimum of 5 school visits for each assigned alternative licensure candidate during each semester  Provide feedback on each lesson observed  Complete and submit observation reports for each observation  Evaluate alternative licensure candidateâ™s proficiency on Colorado Teacher Qualities Standards  Communicate with Alternative Licensure Instructor regarding candidateâ™s performance  Attend all required Alternative Licensure Program (ALP) meetings   Necessary Special Requirement:  This position requires travel to and from teaching sites throughout the week. The final candidate must be able to perform this essential function of the job with or without accommodation.   Required Qualifications   Bachelorâ™s degree or equivalent in education or related field from an accredited college or university  Teaching experience in a public or private school setting  Has held a license to teach   Preferred Qualifications   Masterâ™s degree in a related field  At least 5 years of teaching experience in a public or private school setting  Supervisory experience in an education setting ( e.g. as a principal, department chair, university supervisor, or as a previous mentor/cooperating teacher)  Experience in supervising or mentoring new teachers  Holds a current Colorado teaching license   Terms of Employment   Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester - by - semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the Universityâ™s benefit program.
