Electrician Journeyman

Join our team as a Journeyman Electrician and contribute to a variety of exciting electrical projects. Our Journeyman Electricians play a vital role in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, lighting fixtures, control panels, and other electrical components.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to understand project specifications.
- Test electrical circuits and equipment to ensure functionality and safety according to building codes and electrical standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on electrical systems to identify and address potential issues before they occur.
- Install new electrical systems according to blueprints, ensuring proper grounding for safety.
- Assist master electricians with more complex projects as needed.
- Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and other workers to coordinate tasks and ensure project completion.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations set forth by OSHA and other regulatory bodies.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Qualifications:
- Successfully completed an electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent experience (typically 4-5 years).
- Journeyman electrician license issued by the state regulatory board or national equivalent.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, principles, and safety practices.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., National Electrical Code - NEC).
- Proficiency in using various electrical tools and equipment, including multimeters, hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions regarding electrical installations and repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good physical condition, able to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, climbing, working at heights, and prolonged periods using tools.
Work Environment:
- Work environments can vary depending on the project. You may work indoors in residential or commercial buildings, outdoors on construction sites, or in industrial facilities.
- The job can be physically demanding and requires constant attention to safety details due to the potential hazards of electricity.
- Travel between different job sites is common.
- Adherence to safety protocols is essential to prevent accidents and injuries.
