We are currently seeking a Senior Proposal Writer - Federal to Join IPS.
Position Description (scope of work or brief narrative):
The Senior Proposal Writer will be responsible for win theme strategy development, understanding the needs of the customer's requirements, and overseeing the development, coordination, and submission of proposals in response to requests for proposals (RFPs) from clients or potential clients. Proposal Writer specializes in creating structured, well-organized proposals to win new business or gain support for projects in the Public Sector market.
Required years of experience, training, technical skills, and other requirements for job performance:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in public sector proposal management, preferably in technology, consulting, or professional services.
- Experience working in US Federal / quasi-government agencies with emphasis on IRS, VA, and HHS.
- Participates in win theme strategy development and refinement
- Ensures incorporation of strategic themes as well as compliance with proposal requirements and RFP requirements
- Develops ideas and mock-ups of explanatory tables and graphics
- Utilizes proposal database and previous bids to research content for compliant proposal responses
- Meets with the Bids & Proposals team, Business Development, Capture, and Operations staff to critically review RFP and determine requirements to develop compliant, customized proposals
- Experience in proposal management software and tools.
- Keep updated on public sector industry trends to address potential client concerns or questions effectively.
- This resource should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft explicit, concise, and persuasive proposal content with high quality.
- Understand and interpret proposal instructions and requirements in prospective clients' RFPs.
- This resource will work closely with various teams within an organization to gather the necessary information for writing compelling proposals.
- Conduct extensive research to understand the project or business opportunity in detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a repository of proposal templates, boilerplate content, and other resources to streamline the proposal development process.
- Ensure all proposals comply with client requirements and align with the organization's branding and messaging guidelines.
- Manage multiple proposals simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Coordinate with external partners, subcontractors, and vendors to gather information and incorporate their contributions into proposals.
- Conduct post-submission debriefs and analyze proposal outcomes to identify areas for improvement and best practices.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to proposal management.
- Provide guidance and support to junior proposal team members as needed.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education. Candidates who have completed a Master’s degree program are strongly preferred.
The job also entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face.
