Physician - GIM, Geriatrician | The Ohio State University - Military Veterans

Job Description Physician serving as a member of the Division of General Internal Medicine, within the Department of Internal Medicine; directs and provides direct and indirect patient care services in an outpatient setting; conducts ambulatory clinics; interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to assess medical conditions; orders procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications required; documents all services and instructions provided in medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials, resources and services to patient and their families; directs and participates in quality assessment and improvement activities; serves as preceptor and provides training of residents, fellows, and medical students; ensures continuing medical education requirements are met and participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities. Minimum Education Required Doctorate (Professional) or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in internal medicine Required Qualifications Completion of an accredited residency required; current or interim permit to practice medicine from the State of Ohio Medical Board required; Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Internal Medicine required; and active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) required. Requires successful completion of a background check.
