DESCRIPTION

Michael Baker International is actively seeking a Regional Practice Lead, Bridge to join our Western Region practice. The position can be based in any major market in the region.

The Regional Practice Lead, Bridge is a key leadership role for an established industry leader. The position will require leadership skills that can be exercised across the Company to collaborate with staff, consultant partners, contractors, and clients to ensure growth in reputation and client engagement, and to capture new business across the full life cycle of bridges. Key areas of focus will include client and industry engagement, business development, leadership in project capture strategy, regional operational coordination, technical resource planning support, quality control and financial performance of bridge and/or bridge-heavy multidisciplinary projects. Reporting to the National Director, Bridge Services, the position will collaborate with other Regional Practice Leads and Bridge Practice Leadership to support growth, major pursuits, and operational excellence across the organization. It will use innovative and progressive approaches partnering with local office, regional, and Bridge Practice leadership to enhance existing client relationships, identify/engage new clients and capture new contract opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide Business Development and Client Engagement strategy to capture new projects and clients and services across the region, including alternative delivery opportunities; assist in the pursuit of new business opportunities that require national and/or regional technical capabilities to be focused in support of local office pursuits
  • Lead project delivery as Program Manager, Project Manager, Project Principal, or Technical Advisor for local and/or regional projects
  • Provide technical and management expertise and guidance to staff; provide technical credibility to Michael Baker clients and stakeholders; coordinate with the Regional Director, Office Executives, Department Managers, and Regional Practice Leads to ensure technical capabilities and processes align and support quality standards for the delivery of services
  • Lead the development of capabilities to enable Practice growth throughout the Region and identify the additional capabilities to support new markets and new clients; partner with Office Executives to infuse and grow national and regional capabilities into the local office
  • Provide assistance to National Directors, Regional Practice Leads, and Bridge Technical Directors related to pursuits, lending leadership, expertise, and strategy to the pursuit
  • Build and maintain effective and enduring relationships across Michael Baker offices and external organizations.
  • Provide technical advisory services to clients within the area of subject matter expertise
    Maintain awareness of relevant technical developments and seek opportunities to develop a professional profile and thought leadership through presentations at relevant conferences/meetings; actively participate in technical committees for industry organizations and standards
  • connect /cross-market other discipline services and solutions. Support other disciplines that have existing client relationships and leverages those relationships for growth opportunities
  • Assist in alternative delivery pursuits including strategic pursuit planning, stakeholder outreach, proposal development and project management execution for project delivery as may be warranted
    Ensure awareness of health and safety in all aspects of field and office operations
  • Monitor QA/QC procedures and client requirements for Quality in coordination with the appropriate members of the quality assurance team
  • Assist in the development of firm-wide talent through coaching, mentoring, and recruiting
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • BS in civil/structural engineering required; Master degree preferred
  • 20+ years of proven experience
  • Professional Licensure (AICP, PE, SE, etc)
  • Considered a industry leader
  • Ability to effectively network and influence at peer levels
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with clients and consultant partners
  • Demonstrated experience with multiple project delivery methods
  • Demonstrated business development experience with transportation clients
  • Demonstrated experience in successful leadership of infrastructure projects at the Project Manager, Executive, or Advisor levelExcellent communication and relationship building skills, both internally and externally
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $220,000-$275,000. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
