Maritime Domain Awareness SME - Military Veterans

Amentum is seeking a Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the expansion and bolstering of Fusion Centers (FCs) throughout the USINDOPACOM Area of Responsibility (AOR). The MDA SME will work within the Amentum Fusion Center Team (FCT) to educate and inform the team on how best to integrate MDA capabilities within regional FCs.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide and oversee high-value analysis, assessment, test and evaluation of new / emerging technology and capabilities to integrate MDA capabilities into fusion center planning, surveillance, reconnaissance, and operations.
  • Conduct research, inform new capabilities, and support partner nation operational plans.
  • Recommend how to integrate MDA strategies into operational FC plans and corresponding SOPs.
  • Provide support for the development, planning, staffing, coordination, integration, execution, and assessment of MDA capabilities.
  • Recommend how to integrate MDA capabilities to enhance FC COA analysis and COA development.
  • Identify operational use-cases for enhancements in MDA capabilities and provide insights on integration options that can translate into system upgrades.
  • Assess and provide formal recommendations on emerging MDA tools and methodologies.
  • Provide assistance to senior-level strategic planning and briefings, including preparing formal papers and background information for USINDOPACOM.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • At least 10 years of experience supporting the DoD, including:
    • Extensive working knowledge in maritime law enforcement and/or coastal security.
    • Baseline knowledge of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team to identify and analyze problems and proactively find solutions.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience working within the Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) field.
  • Minimum of five years' experience working within the Indo-Pacific region.
  • Minimum of five years' experience conducting Maritime Pattern of Life (MARPOL).
  • Must have an active Top-Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility after your start date. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in U.S. Coast Guard is preferred.
  • Served as a Maritime watch supervisor or supervisor of an MDA problem set.

The salary range for this position is $135K to $160K (salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
