Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is seeking a skilled and experienced PV Solar Field Tech I to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, and troubleshooting of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience working in the solar energy industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspection of PV solar systems to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to PV solar systems, including inverters, modules, and monitoring systems.
  • Conduct electrical testing and measurements to verify system functionality and compliance with relevant guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide technical feedback and assist in system optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Document all work performed, including system upgrades, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide training and support to other team members and contractors as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices to enhance knowledge and skills.


  • Job Overview

    The Site Technician will support the Regional Manager or designee to ensure the perfect execution of the PGD processes. Site Technicians in a solar region perform duties in the following but are not limited to safety, contractor management, electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, overall site operations, asset management and regulatory compliance, reliability engineering, and inventory management.

    • Operation and basic maintenance

    • Electrical and power electronics troubleshooting and repairs

    • Safety and Environmental program stewardship

    • Supervisory duties of NEE employees and contractors

    • Mechanical troubleshooting and repairs

    • Business duties and Inventory management

    • Heavy equipment operation

    • Regulatory compliance

    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


    Required Qualifications


    • High School Grad / GED

    • Experience: 2+ years

    • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)


    Preferred Qualifications


    • Trade School Graduate

    • Licensed Electrician

    • Licensed Master Electrician

    • Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified


    The base pay for this position is $59,200.00to $88,800.00per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
