The opportunity:
This position performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities depending upon area of assignment including performing basic trade activities such as electrical, plumbing and carpentry work.
How you will impact WestRock:
• Performs preven tive maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment on a scheduled basis; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.
• Performs minor and major repair of all equipment.
• Repairs electri cal equipment/syst ems and control circuits; and replaces faulty electric al equipment as needed. This troubleshootin g element is inclusive of Three Phase Motors and Programmable Logical Controls (PLC) applications
• Installs electr ical wiring and equipment; new electrical services; and replaces and repairs wiring as needed (including computer cable).
• Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems and other mechanical systems on production equi pment to assure optimum performance of that production process
• C ompletes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment maintenance pro cedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures
What- you need to succeed:
• Ability to work safely, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and comply with all safety regulations
• Must have a strong working knowledge of relay logic and be capable of applying this knowledge in the troubleshootin g of the PLCs in the production equipment
• Must have a strong understanding of NFPA 70E standards and be capable of applying these standards in the work situation.
• Flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts; required to work daily overtime and weekends as needed
• High schooldiploma or equivalent. Technical school preferred.
