Field Service Technician - Military Veterans

The location in West Springfield, MA is growing at an increased rate and needs a strong mechanical technician to join the staff that is currently small, but mighty. In this role you will be responsible for repairs and maintenance of rotating equipment, including pumps, gear boxes, valves, blowers, and vacuum pumps. The services may be performed in our repair facility located in West Springfield, MA or may be completed in the field at a customer's facility.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

- Completes initial inspection and required paperwork for all items to be repaired or serviced

- Disassembles equipment while marking items and documenting current condition

- Sand blasts and paints items as required

- Helps identify items needed for repair

- Measure all required parts for inspection reports

- Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves issues with equipment, devices, or products

- Uses precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to make measurements

- Assembles equipment per manufacturer specifications verifying acceptable tolerances are achieved

- Assists customers with tasks related to current equipment including pump removal, pump install, shaft alignment, vibration analysis, lube maintenance, and others

- Maintains and completes required paperwork and time sheet

- Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations

- Cleans up shop and performs other duties as assigned

Base salary, $70 - $75K, a 401k, along with medical, life, vision, and dental coverage, a company car, a laptop, and a cell phone are provided.
