The Department of Dermatology is seeking a part-time Clinical Lab Assistant to support technical laboratory personnel in day-to-day operations of the wet lab research in the Department of Dermatology. The incumbent will: Prepare simple and complex reagents or media under direct supervision. Clear understanding of the standards required to work in a research laboratory under university and Keck School of Medicine guidelines Monitor incoming phone inquiries and requests. Establish and maintain courteous, cooperative relations with Principal Investigator and other personnel Identify and separate specimens to be referred to outside laboratories or analyzed by other USC laboratories. Handle and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with safety protocols. Maintain and organizes laboratory supplies. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed. Under direct supervision of Principal Investigator and research team, order laboratory consumables and track billing and reconciliations of supplies of the laboratory. Must be highly organized, and detail-oriented Possesses effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Proficiency with typical software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. The hourly range for this position is $19.00- $25.02.
